Senior Backend Engineer

About the Position

We invite a senior hands-on professional who is passionate about software engineering to join our enterprise project. A successful candidate will join the project team consisting of approximately 8 people residing in Ukraine and Switzerland. This project team is responsible for the development of a Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform. DBaaS aims to bring cloud-like features to database management, supports different database systems like Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server (potentially even non-relational ones), and attempts to hide differences in terminology from users.

Responsibilities

As one of the key players of our development team, you are responsible for the smooth delivery of a specific project but will collaborate with the rest of the team on common components. That might include:

• Development of the architecture and technical design
• Implementation of all components under your responsibility
• Collaboration with your colleagues in the development of common and shared components
• Development of CI/CD pipelines and other automation tools supporting your productivity
• Regular communication with clients, gathering requirements and feedback, detecting business and technology opportunities

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer
• 4+ years of commercial experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Solid experience with Modern Authentication and Authorization protocols (OAuth)
• Excellent communication skills and problem-solving aptitude
• Upper Intermediate or higher English level (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of Zeebe
• Knowledge of Node.js and Vue.js
• Experience with enterprise-grade systems in a corporate environment
