Responsibilities

• Take ownership of backend components of your domain team.
• Work closely with product managers and frontend engineers to ship high-quality features.
• Drive the migration from the old to the new architecture.
• Design and implement REST APIs on our AWS infrastructure.
• Monitor backend services in production environments to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Build systems in the spirit of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).

Requirements

• Strong experience in designing, developing, and scaling backend systems.
• Proficiency in Node.js and Java (Spring Boot).
• Strong experience with hosting on AWS and utilizing AWS services.
• Experience with agentic tools (e.g., LLM agents, AI copilots, and Claude Code).
• Hands-on experience with inter-service communication, fault-tolerant distributed systems, distributed caching mechanisms, and microservice architectures.
• Proficient with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
• Experience with PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch.
• Very good communication skills.
• First experiences in an agile software development team.
• Bachelor or master's degree in computer science or similar qualifications.
• Fluent in both spoken and written English. German is not required.
• Eager to learn new technologies and interested in cloud architecture.
