Senior Backend Engineer – Node, Golang, AWS (project based)

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join a product-focused engineering team working on scalable services, APIs, and cloud-native backend systems for a modern e-commerce platform.

The role is focused on building and evolving backend services, service-to-service integrations, data pipelines, and APIs that support both internal operations and merchant-facing capabilities. It is a good fit for someone who enjoys distributed systems, API-driven architectures, cloud deployments, and ownership over production-ready backend solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve backend services using Go and TypeScript / Node.js
• Develop internal and merchant-facing APIs, background workers, and scheduled jobs
• Work on service-to-service integrations, authentication flows, and multi-tenant access patterns
• Shape API contracts, versioning strategies, and safe rollouts across multiple consumer services
• Work with relational databases, caching layers, and asynchronous processing
• Improve reliability through structured logging, metrics, tracing, retries, and backpressure
• Collaborate with platform and infrastructure teams on cloud deployments, CI/CD, and secrets management
• Contribute to scalable, maintainable, and production-ready backend architecture

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Go and/or TypeScript / Node.js
• Good understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and service-to-service communication
• Experience working with REST and/or gRPC-based services
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL
• Experience with caching technologies such as Redis
• Familiarity with asynchronous processing and job queues
• Experience with cloud environments, ideally AWS
• Experience with containerized deployments using Docker
• Good understanding of CI/CD practices and production reliability
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or similar
• Clear communication, ownership mindset, and fluent English

Nice to Have

• Experience with e-commerce platforms or merchant-facing systems
• Experience with subscriptions, payments, billing, or overage-related product areas
• Experience with Terraform, ECS, SQS, OpenAPI, or Protobuf
• Interest in growing towards full-stack development
