We design advanced data and AI transformation solutions, modernize technology architectures, and develop next-generation core systems for industry leaders in Banking, Insurance, Manufacturing, and Robotics. Partnering closely with our clients, we push boundaries to unlock their full potential. With deep industry expertise, cutting-edge technology, and a strong partner ecosystem, GFT delivers responsible AI-centric solutions that combine engineering excellence, high-performance delivery, and cost efficiency. Our team of 12,000+ technology experts operate in 20+ countries worldwide, offering career opportunities at the forefront of software innovation.
Role Overview
As a Business Analyst at GFT, you will bridge banking stakeholders, regulatory reporting teams, and technical delivery teams to support data platform implementation, data warehouse design, regulatory reporting, and legacy report migration. You will be responsible for analyzing source data, defining business and reporting requirements, producing detailed source-to-target mappings, clarifying banking business rules, supporting data governance, and coordinating validation and UAT activities.
Responsibilities
- Gather and document business, data, regulatory, and reporting requirements.
- Profile source tables independently using SQL, including row counts, cardinality, null rates, duplicate business keys, and orphan keys.
- Analyze physical data models and distinguish between normalized transactional structures and dimensional models.
- Clarify business decisions related to dimensional modeling, including slowly changing dimensions and Type 2 history requirements.
- Understand CDC behavior and define how inserts, updates, deletes, and late-arriving records should be handled.
- Produce column-level source-to-target mapping documents, including field definitions, transformation rules, calculations, lookup logic, default values, and exception handling.
- Work with source system SMEs to challenge assumptions, identify data gaps, and validate business rules rather than simply documenting existing explanations.
- Define BI and reporting requirements, including metric definitions, data grain, filters, expected refresh frequency, reconciliation rules, and expected values against legacy reports.
- Support regulatory reporting analysis, report reconciliation, and migration from legacy reporting environments.
- Maintain business glossaries, data classification matrices, report catalogues, mapping documents, and functional specifications.
- Identify PII and sensitive data and define requirements for masking, retention, access control, and purpose limitation under applicable privacy regulations.
- Coordinate UAT activities, including test scenarios, expected results, defect clarification, reconciliation, and business sign-off.
- Collaborate with business users, data engineers, data analysts, architects, QA, and project managers throughout delivery.
Requirements
- Strong Business Analysis experience in data platforms, data warehouses, reporting, or data migration projects.
- Practical SQL skills sufficient to profile and investigate source tables without assistance.
- Ability to read physical data models and understand transactional, normalized, and dimensional structures.
- Understanding of facts, dimensions, data grain, slowly changing dimensions, and historical data requirements.
- Understanding of CDC concepts and their impact on data processing and reporting.
- Experience producing detailed column-level source-to-target mappings.
- Strong banking domain knowledge across areas such as:
- Core banking
- Deposits
- Lending
- Payments
- General ledger and financial accounting
- Ability to challenge source system SMEs and translate banking processes into clear data and reporting requirements.
- Data governance knowledge, including PII classification, masking, retention, data lineage, metadata, access control, and purpose limitation under PDPA or similar privacy regulations.
- Experience defining BI requirements, including metrics, calculation logic, grain, filters, refresh expectations, and legacy report reconciliation.
- Experience supporting testing, UAT, defect resolution, and business validation.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, or Lucidchart.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with banking regulatory or financial reporting.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik, or SSRS.
- Experience in core banking transformation, data migration, or reporting modernization.
- Knowledge of data quality frameworks, reconciliation controls, audit requirements, and regulatory traceability.
We Offer
- Competitive base salary
- A collaborative, diverse, and growth-oriented culture
