Job description

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst for a part-time role in Central Europe, focusing on a multi-tenant SaaS platform for affiliate and performance marketing.

About the Project

A multi-tenant SaaS platform for offer serving, conversion tracking, and partner management in affiliate and performance marketing. We have built it for a long-term client since late 2023. The MVP went live in mid-2024 and the product has been in active development on a live system since then.

The platform serves four personas (Publisher, Advertiser, Affiliate Network, Partner) across twelve modules. Two flows carry it. The offer lifecycle covers creation, budget, capping, EPC, payout models, targeting, and sharing. The conversion pipeline covers click tracking, attribution, validation, reward calculation, and server-to-server postbacks. Requirement gaps in the conversion pipeline turn into defects that cost money, so that area needs the most rigor.

The BA role has just been split off from the PM role, which previously carried both. This position owns the analysis layer end to end: backlog refinement and ticket quality, product documentation in Confluence, requirement consistency across personas, and the requirements side of client working sessions. It also owns the analysis for a new offerwall product line running alongside the core platform.

Responsibilities

  • Own backlog refinement. Write and refine tickets to the project standard: user story, acceptance criteria, in/out of scope, QA checklist, notes.
  • Answer developer and QA questions on tickets in development, daily.
  • Maintain the system documentation set used by QA, developers, the client, and support.
  • Own the artifacts and requirement consistency across personas and tenants.
  • Run client working sessions (workshops, interviews, brainstormings) for requirements elicitation.
  • Review designs with the project designer against the requirement.
  • Shape and sequence new initiatives with the PM and the client.
  • Use the project's AI-assisted workflow and apply editorial judgment to its output.

Requirements

  • 3+ years as a Business Analyst or Product Owner on software product teams, at least 1 of them on a live, continuously released product.
  • Ownership of requirements end to end: a business request becomes a developer-ready ticket without a product manager translating in between.
  • Strong requirement writing in English.
  • Experience writing and maintaining PRDs, functional specs, and living documentation of shipped behavior in Confluence or equivalent.
  • Ability to analyze a system that already exists: reading API contracts, Swagger docs, database structures, and application code to confirm current behavior.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) in analysis work, with the editorial judgment to cut what they produce before publishing.
  • Direct client experience: running requirement sessions and pushing back when a request is underspecified.
  • Agile distributed team experience: refinement, estimation, daily calls, async written communication.
  • English B2+, spoken and written.
  • Self-organized enough to hold a part-time load and keep the refinement queue ahead of the developers without being chased.

Nice to Have

  • Adtech, affiliate marketing, performance marketing, or ad monetization domain (offers, conversions, postbacks, offer walls, payouts, etc).
  • Multi-tenant SaaS and role-based or persona-based permission models.
  • Writing QA-facing test checklists as part of the requirement.
  • Working with Figma and reviewing designs against requirements.
  • Product ownership or product management background.
  • Pre-sale and discovery work: estimating analysis effort, shaping scope for a proposal.

We Offer

  • Opportunity to work part-time in Central Europe.
  • Engaging in a dynamic and innovative SaaS project.
  • Collaborative environment with a focus on agile methodologies.
  • Potential for professional growth and development.
