About the Position
We're seeking a Senior C++ Developer with experience in UAV and ArduPilot for our R&D team in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Responsibilities
- Development, improvement, and support of UAV software (wings, multicopters) based on ArduPilot.
- Integration of cameras and other sensors, working with streaming data.
- Development and support of SITL/HITL systems.
- Close collaboration with the computer vision team and GNC (guidance, navigation, control).
- Development in C++ on Linux user-space for the companion computer.
- Support of communication protocols between the companion computer and flight controller (MavLink or others).
- Profiling and optimization of performance, memory, and system interaction.
- Analysis of logs, search, and troubleshooting of implemented algorithms.
Requirements
- Experience with ArduPilot or PX4 (minimum 1 year).
- 3+ years of experience in commercial C++ development.
- Understanding of OOP principles, STL, and C++ memory model.
- Experience with multithreading, synchronization, and low-level interfaces.
- Experience in profiling and optimization: CPU, memory, latency.
- Understanding of design patterns and principles of building computer programs.
Nice to Have
- Understanding of stabilization principles, mode switching, failsafe logic.
- Experience with embedded systems and systems with limited computational resources.
- Experience with computer vision algorithms (OpenCV, custom pipelines).
- Knowledge of control theory and stabilization algorithms (PID controllers).
- Knowledge of typical sensor operation principles and their synthesis (Kalman filter).
- Python, Lua for utility scripts and rapid prototyping.
- Knowledge of mathematics (linear algebra, vector geometry).
- Experience with git, CMake, gdb, perf.
- Experience in Military Tech projects or cooperation with defense enterprises.
- Ability to operate quadcopters.
