About the Position
Senior C++ Software Architect (m/w/d)
Location: Dortmund, Germany
Department: Innovation & Development
We are seeking a Senior C++ Software Architect to lead the development of a stable, scalable, and maintainable software architecture for mobile robotics solutions. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the technological foundation of our entire platform.
Responsibilities
- Architectural Leadership: Oversee the architecture of the C++-based core software for mobile robotics solutions.
- Modular Design: Define clear module, layer, and responsibility structures within the software architecture.
- API Development: Design and secure stable APIs and interfaces between system components.
- Technical Evaluation: Assess technical decisions focusing on quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Debt Reduction: Identify and reduce technical debt at the system and architecture levels.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Robot Software, Fleet Software, Safety, and Test & Validation teams.
- Review Support: Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews, and assist with debugging and integration.
- Mentorship: Mentor and provide technical guidance to developers to ensure high code quality.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Extensive professional experience in C++ software development and software architecture.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in modern C++ (e.g., C++17/20), including memory and threading models.
- Strong knowledge in software architecture, API design, and modular systems.
- Experience in performance, runtime, and stability analysis of complex software systems.
- Experience in technical leadership, architectural responsibility, or mentoring.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong system thinking, decision-making ability, and structured approach.
- Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
