Senior Cloud Systems Engineer (w/m/d)

Fabasoft is seeking a passionate Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to join our Cloud Operations Team in Wien, Austria. If you are driven by optimizing system performance, analyzing telemetry data, and have a deep understanding of PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, and Linux, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Performance-Hunting & Telemetrie: Analyze metrics, logs, and traces to identify performance bottlenecks and ensure maximum system resilience and minimal latency.
• Deep-Dive in Datenbanken: Take responsibility for the stability, performance, and scaling of our PostgreSQL databases, working closely with various departments. You should be familiar with index strategies, HA concepts, and query optimization.
• Kubernetes & Virtualisierung: Manage and develop our Kubernetes platforms, understanding the interplay between container runtimes, virtualization concepts in the k8s environment, and the underlying infrastructure.
• Continuous Improvement & Automatisierung: Implement modern approaches (GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, Configuration Management) to ensure reliable system operation and collaborate closely with our development teams in Linz and Wien.

Requirements

• Completed IT education (HTL, FH, or university) or equivalent, with solid experience in platform and system operations.
• Strong PostgreSQL expertise, including analysis of execution plans, performance tuning, and maintenance.
• Kubernetes and virtualization knowledge, understanding the architecture principles of Kubernetes (OKD/OpenShift) and virtualization technologies and their resource management.
• Analytical skills with a passion for observability (telemetry, metrics, distributed tracing) and a relentless drive to uncover root causes.
• Proficiency in Linux (RHEL/CentOS/AlmaLinux), scripting, and an interest in GitOps.
