Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

Next Level Finance is a fast-growing finance transformation specialist. We are looking for a Senior Consultant to lead engagements that help large organizations automate and optimize their financial and statutory reporting, addressing what is often called the 'last mile of finance'. You will be a key driver of our Workiva partnership, working directly with clients to streamline the delivery of annual reports, interim reports, and sustainability disclosures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead client engagements focused on automating financial and statutory reporting processes using Workiva and similar platforms
  • Help clients optimize their end-to-end report delivery, from ERP close through to annual, interim, and sustainability reports
  • Analyse and improve ways of working around data sourcing, data quality, and cross-functional collaboration in the reporting process
  • Support clients with GRC topics including internal controls, risk management, and compliance within the finance function
  • Work alongside auditors and finance teams to ensure regulatory and market requirements are met
  • Facilitate workshops and communicate insights to senior finance stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of Next Level Finance’s Workiva partnership and service offering
  • Mentor junior consultants and support team development

Requirements

  • 3–12 years of experience in finance transformation, financial reporting, controllership, or a related consulting role
  • Hands-on experience with Workiva or similar financial reporting and disclosure management platforms
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting, consolidation close cycles, and annual/interim/sustainability reporting
  • Familiarity with ERP environments (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and how data flows into the reporting layer
  • Experience in GRC, internal controls, or sustainability reporting is a strong advantage
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, comfortable presenting to CFOs and finance directors
  • Fluent in Swedish and English
  • Based in Stockholm (hybrid working model)
  • Degree in economics, accounting, finance, or a related field

We Offer

  • A senior role within a fast-growing, ambitious consultancy with real influence on strategy
  • A flat, collaborative culture built on trust, learning, and psychological safety
  • Active involvement in building out the Workiva service line and partnership
  • Exposure to complex, high-impact finance transformation engagements across industries
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based incentives
  • Access to the broader Newground Alliance ecosystem, 14 specialist consultancies, ~280 consultants

About the Company

The Newground alliance began with a simple belief. Experienced consultants should be able to build firms around true specialization, without choosing between focus and scale.

In 2014, four management consultants shaped the ideas for building something different. Drawing on their experience building consultancies, their ambition was to create an environment where the principles of consulting done right could take shape, guided by deep expertise, long-term relationships, and professional pride.

From the outset, the goal was not to build a single firm. The founders believed the strongest companies are built around clear niches and entrepreneurial teams. Instead of consolidating into one organization, they created a structure where specialist firms remain autonomous while benefiting from shared infrastructure, long-term capital, and aligned ownership, with expertise close to decisions and clear accountability across the alliance.

Founded in 2014, Newground has grown to include 300 coworkers across its specialist consultancies.
