About the Position

Senior Content Writer, Global

Adyen is hiring a senior content writer who is organized, self-driven, and good with people. You will work from our Amsterdam office for our global content team, reporting to the Global Content Lead.

This role exists to produce content that serves Adyen’s business and marketing goals while staying true to our brand. You deliver compelling copy that measurably strengthens our value proposition, our marketing strategy, and our brand. You will take on complex projects, where long-form skill, narrative depth, and storytelling backed by data set Adyen apart.

The right person has a track record of turning briefs into strong content, whatever the objective. Long-form is your core strength. You are also comfortable with short-form and SEO. You work well with the people across the company and you manage projects with discipline.

Responsibilities

• Write thought leadership, brand narratives, editorial series, and other long-form pieces that strengthen Adyen’s authority and make the brand more distinctive. You also pick up other copy needs as they arise.
• Show real command of long-form, short-form, and SEO writing, with long-form editorial as your specialism.
• Connect every content initiative to commercial goals and the wider content strategy, and show that you understand business, marketing, and brand priorities each time you respond to a brief.
• Lead content projects from kickoff to delivery. You work with internal and external stakeholders and design partners, pay close attention to details and deadlines, and show others how good project management keeps teams aligned and timelines on track. You see risks coming and adjust the plan without being asked.
• Produce and maintain assets by following existing processes, formats, guidelines, and templates, so that fewer reviews and rounds of revision are needed.
• Gather background information, data, audience insight, and newsworthy material, and interview internal and external contacts to feed your content.
• Join case study visits and content shoots on location.
• Define clear goals for your content, measure its impact, and apply what the results tell you, using digital content marketing best practice.
• Build and update writing templates and guidelines that work across studios, and find better ways of working as you go.
• Mentor writers in other studios so the quality of writing stays high.

Requirements

• 10+ years of professional writing experience and a strong portfolio of long-form copy.
• A storyteller. You are curious about what motivates our audiences, how they behave, and what they prefer.
• Know how to build differentiation through thought leadership and storytelling grounded in data.
• Pay close attention to detail and approach every task like a journalist, looking for the angles and stories that matter.
• Understand writing for digital channels: how user experience and channel conventions shape the work, and where it sits within content marketing as a whole.
• Start things yourself, keep to deadlines, and push projects forward, and you welcome feedback and iteration.
• Fully proficient in English, written and spoken.
