Responsibilities

• The Sr. Continuous Improvement Specialist draws upon the deep knowledge and experience of Lean for Healthcare and other improvement methodologies in accomplishing assignments.
• Engages in a leadership role to lead or facilitate process improvement activities, initiatives, and events throughout the healthcare system.
• Demonstrates ability in Project Management, project planning and implementation, facilitation, data collection and analytics, A3 Thinking, Value Stream Analysis, Workflow Assessments, and the use of Lean and other improvement tools.
• Understands the Munson Alignment Framework and Operating System.
• Much of the work is self-directed and varies in both subject matter and team composition.
• Can work with individuals or teams and oftentimes serves as trainer, coach, or mentor and may direct the work of others.

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Nursing, or other professional healthcare discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Three or more years of experience including project leadership experience is required with a demonstrated record of achieving and sustaining favorable results.
• Demonstrated expertise using a wide range of performance improvement tools and methodologies, including Lean, is required.
• Must have excellent organizational, analytical, presentation, and project management skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate and interact effectively with employees from all areas of the organization.
• Must have the ability to evaluate and discuss defects and errors in an objective and non-threatening manner.
• Demonstrated ability using complex data for decision-making is required. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and desktop software is required.
• Must have strong written, oral, visual, and presentation skills to articulate the philosophy of Continuous Improvement as well as ongoing project status information.
• Experience providing education/training and coaching in the use of performance improvement tools and techniques required.
• Will work with leaders as a change agent to drive transformation and assist with change management.

Nice to Have

• Clinical experience in nursing, medicine, pharmacy, or allied health profession is valued.
• Lean for Healthcare or Lean Six Sigma certification or comparable experience preferred.
• Familiarity with Clinical EHRs is beneficial.
• A Master’s degree preferred.
