My client, a dynamics player in the airline industry with HQ in Hong Kong, is now urgently looking for a Senior Data & BI Engineer to enhance our data infrastructure and drive the performance of our Microsoft BI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain data solutions using Azure SQL Database and Azure Data Lake to support business reporting and day-to-day operational needs.
• Develop and manage ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and related Azure tools to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
• Build and maintain data warehouse tables, data models, and datasets that support reporting, analysis, and management decision-making.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and reports that provide clear visibility into key business metrics, including sales performance, procurement activities, commissions, royalties, and operational KPIs.
• Integrate data from various business systems and external sources, including ERP systems, CRM platforms, APIs, and Smartsheet, to consolidate information into a single reporting environment.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and monitoring reports to identify data issues and improve reporting accuracy.
• Develop Power Automate workflows to reduce manual processes, improve workflow efficiency, and provide automated notifications to business users.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, deliver practical analytics solutions, and support continuous process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field, with relevant experience in data engineering, business intelligence, or reporting roles.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Strong SQL skills with experience designing databases, data warehouse structures, and data models for reporting and analytics.
• Practical experience developing Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models to support business operations and performance tracking.
• Experience extracting and integrating data from APIs, ERP systems, CRM systems, spreadsheets, and other business applications.
• Good understanding of ETL processes, data validation, and data quality management to ensure reliable and accurate reporting.
• Experience using Microsoft Power Automate or similar workflow tools to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work directly with business users in a fast-paced SME environment and translate requirements into effective data solutions.
