Senior Data Architect - Finance - London

A small but growing consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Data Architect to play a key role in shaping and governing enterprise data architecture across a complex, highly regulated environment.
This is a hands-on architecture role requiring someone who can operate with credibility from day one, defining technical patterns, assuring solution designs, and providing architectural leadership across data, analytics, and emerging AI initiatives.
We're looking for a technically minded architect rather than a purely business-focused strategist; someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, influencing engineering teams, and ensuring robust architectural standards are adopted across the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Defining enterprise, domain, and solution-level data architectures
- Establishing and governing data architecture standards, principles, and technical patterns
- Designing logical and physical data models for operational, analytical, and AI use cases
- Providing architectural oversight and design assurance across delivery teams
- Supporting data governance, lineage, metadata management, and data quality initiatives
- Contributing to long-term architecture roadmaps and investment planning
Requirements
- Senior experience as a Data Architect
- Strong understanding of data architecture principles and practices
- Experience in a highly regulated environment
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
