About the Position

Senior Data Engineer - Microsoft Fabric - London (Hybrid) - Up to £75,000

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established international organization currently undergoing a major transformation of its data and reporting landscape.

With significant investment being made into Microsoft Fabric, data modernization, and automation, the business is looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can play a key role in shaping and delivering its next-generation data platform. You'll join a growing team at a pivotal stage, helping to build scalable data solutions while influencing best practice and future architecture decisions across the business.

This role would suit someone who is passionate about modern Microsoft data technologies and wants to work in an environment where Microsoft Fabric is central to the long-term data strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouses, Data Pipelines, Notebooks, and Dataflows)
  • Design and develop scalable ETL/ELT solutions
  • Manage large-scale data migration and transformation projects
  • Develop SQL and T-SQL
  • Create data modelling and data warehousing solutions
  • Integrate Azure-based data services
  • Utilize PySpark and Python within Fabric Notebooks
  • Support Power BI reporting and analytics requirements
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders across multiple departments
  • Engage in AI, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

Essential:

  • Strong experience as a Data Engineer in a Microsoft environment
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Strong SQL/T-SQL skills
  • Experience designing and developing scalable data solutions
  • Data modelling and data warehouse experience
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable:

  • PySpark and Python experience within Fabric Notebooks
  • Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, or Azure Data Lake
  • Power BI
  • Data migration experience
  • CI/CD and DevOps exposure
  • AI/ML experience
  • Microsoft Fabric certifications (DP-600)
  • Azure Data Engineering certification (DP-203)
