Job description
About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with experience in cloud environments and Unix-based OSes to join our team in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
About DEPT®
At DEPT®, we are a Growth Invention company built to help the world’s most ambitious brands grow faster. Operating at the intersection of technology and marketing, we create what is next by pioneering ideas, acting fast, and moving further because standing still just is not in our DNA.
Our culture runs on three values: better together, relentlessly curious, and get sh*t done. It is how we work, how we grow, and how we make things that matter.
The Role
We are looking for a well-rounded, flexible Data Engineer with an interest in translating business goals into concrete solutions. You’ve been part of more than one team, you’ve demonstrated initiative on most of your projects, and you can tell us in technical detail what you did to help. Ideally you’ve worked with at least one devops team, and in at least one flavor of agile. If you haven’t we won’t hold that against you. At DEPT®, we pride ourselves on our pragmatic, engineering approach to making data work for the business.
Responsibilities
- Ability to realign client expectations when challenges arise (delays, change in scope, etc.)
- Proactively, and independently able to research knowledge needed to perform tasks (i.e., knows when to ask for help, and doesn't spend significant time on already-solved issues)
- You have the ability to identify potential technical solutions that apply to an internal/client situation (i.e., ability to connect technical solutions to a business need).
- You enjoy working with peers / new hires to help them understand and apply best practices
- You can prioritize multiple tasks and communicate the overall status of a project.
- You enjoy participating in technical design of systems, schemas, or pipelines and offer sound guidance
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in core programming fundamentals, modern tools (IDEs, CLI, Git/version control), and basic debugging
- 2+ years of experience in Data Management Tools
- 2+ years of discovery and assessment of a client’s portfolio, tools, and applications
- 2+ years of professional software and consulting experience
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or GCP) is a plus
- Experience with Unix-based OSes a plus
We Offer
- Fully equipped offices with refreshments and great common spaces
- Premium healthcare through OSDE for the employee and their immediate family members
- Mendel prepaid card with a monthly allowance for grocery purchases
- Monthly reimbursements for Wi-Fi/electricity expenses
- Monthly reimbursements for training/English classes
- 100% covered “Plan Total” membership at Sportclub
- Access to our benefits platform through Bonda
- A flexible vacation policy
