What we are looking for:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with 8-12 years of experience in modern data environments and a practical approach to join our team in Alcobendas, Zaragoza, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Alicante, Lleida, or Valencia, Spain. The selected person will lead initiatives related to data governance, quality, and data architecture, actively participating in the design and implementation of data pipelines and platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for a major European banking client. Therefore, an advanced conversational English level is important. Experience with BigQuery and Airflow is highly valued.
Responsibilities

Lead data management and governance initiatives, ensuring the quality, traceability, and standardization of information.

Design, develop, and oversee scalable and efficient data pipelines.

Collaborate with technical and business teams to define data management standards and best practices.

Actively participate in the development and implementation of solutions using cloud technologies and data processing tools.

Act as a technical reference in data architecture and governance within the project.
Requirements
-
Solid experience as a Data Lead, Senior Data Engineer, or similar roles leading data management and transformation initiatives.

Extensive knowledge in Data Quality, Data Lineage, and Data Standards, as well as experience in defining and implementing data governance frameworks.

Practical experience and development capability in Python, actively participating in the construction and maintenance of data solutions.

Experience with Apache Airflow, Apache Spark, and distributed data processing environments.

Knowledge and experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services, especially Google Cloud Storage (GCS), Cloud Composer, Cloud Dataproc, and BigQuery.

Experience designing and implementing data architectures and pipelines in cloud environments.

High level of English (minimum B2-C1), with the ability to maintain fluid conversations, lead technical meetings, and collaborate with international clients and teams.
