Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake)

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake) to join our team in Malaysia on a hybrid basis. You will design and optimize ELT pipelines, build analytics-ready data models, and improve reliability across ingestion, orchestration, and monitoring. You will use Snowflake, SQL, Python, and Azure Data Factory to deliver trusted datasets that teams can use every day.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and support ETL and ELT pipelines using Snowflake and Azure data services
• Develop ingestion and transformation processes for batch and incremental loads
• Model analytics-ready datasets to support reporting and business analysis needs
• Write and maintain SQL and Python transformations, validations, and reusable components
• Tune Snowflake performance across warehouses, queries, loading, and cost efficiency
• Implement orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, alerting, and recovery patterns
• Embed engineering practices across testing, deployment, CI/CD, documentation, and data quality
• Mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and shared standards

Requirements

• Hands-on Snowflake expertise across ingestion, transformation, modeling, and analytics workloads
• Advanced SQL capability including complex transformations, tuning, and validation checks
• ETL and ELT delivery experience including incremental loads and change data capture patterns
• Azure Data Factory experience for orchestration, scheduling, monitoring, and integrations
• Python development skills for data processing, automation, and pipeline tooling
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts including dimensional modeling and modern platform design
• Snowflake platform knowledge including virtual warehouses, Snowpipe, Streams and Tasks, security, and role-based access control (RBAC)
• Clear communication with the ability to align technical work with business goals

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Power BI experience for reporting and semantic layer collaboration
• Apache Airflow exposure or similar workflow orchestration tools
• Consulting or client-facing delivery background in technology projects
