Senior Data Engineering Manager

About the Position

Join Atlassian's Finance Data Engineering team as a Senior Data Engineering Manager to lead and mentor a team of data engineers. We're looking for someone who can drive cultural and process improvements to elevate quality and efficiency within our scalable ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Leadership: Hire, coach, mentor, and provide career development for a team of data engineers.
• Technical Guidance: Provide deep technical expertise in data engineering within a scalable ecosystem.
• Engineering Excellence: Drive cultural and process improvements to elevate quality and efficiency.
• Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (Business Teams, Data Science, and Analytics Platform) to foster a collaborative culture.

Requirements

• Experience:
  • 6–8+ years in a software development role (Individual Contributor).
  • 4+ years of people management experience leading agile teams.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Experience with cloud stacks: AWS, S3, Databricks, Spark/Spark Streaming, graph databases, dbt.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data architectural standards, dimensional modeling, test automation, and continuous delivery.
• Education: Graduate degree in Computer Science or a similar discipline.

Nice to Have

• Building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Experience with Tableau.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning.
• Contributions to open-source projects.
