Senior Data Scientist (C++ with Robotics background)

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with a C++ and robotics background to enhance our Data Aggregation Service for map alignment.

Responsibilities

• Understand, enhance, and extend existing algorithms (written in C++/C#) used to process and align vehicle probe/sensor data (VPD).
• Apply and improve approaches related to map compilation, data filtering, linear algebra, and computational geometry.
• Work on SLAM-style (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) techniques adapted for the aggregation and map-alignment use case.
• Partner closely with engineers to ensure algorithms can be productionized and containerized correctly, clarifying algorithmic intent where needed.
• Help design test/validation datasets and success criteria for algorithm correctness.
• Collaborate with distributed team members across India, US, and Europe.

Requirements

• Approximately 5 plus years of experience, at a senior data science / applied-research level.
• Strong programming ability in C++.
• Background in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or drones, with hands-on exposure to SLAM-based approaches.
• Solid foundation in linear algebra and computational geometry as applied to spatial/sensor data problems.
• Experience with algorithmic data filtering and processing of sensor data (not imagery).

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with C# in addition to C++.
• Exposure to map compilation or geospatial data pipelines.
• Experience collaborating with engineering teams on productionizing research/algorithmic code.
