Our team works closely with customers' engineers to develop cloud-based solutions that accelerate their organizations. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be part of a cross-functional team that works side-by-side with high-impact and strategic customers and their engineers to build innovative solutions. You will thrive in a diverse technological environment, solve exciting business problems, contribute to open-source projects, and collaborate with Microsoft product teams.

Location: Reston, VA

Salary: $160,200 - $261,000 USD/year

Responsibilities

• Acquire and develop usable data sets for modeling.
• Update internal best practices for data collection and preparation.
• Evaluate team models and recommend improvements.
• Drive best practices for models and develop operational models that run at scale.
• Conduct thorough reviews of data analysis and modeling techniques.
• Identify and invent new evaluation methods.
• Research and maintain deep knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
• Write extensible code that spans multiple features.
• Develop expertise in proper debugging techniques.
• Define business, customer, and solution strategy goals.
• Partner with other teams to identify and explore new opportunities.
• Apply a customer-oriented focus to understand their needs and drive realistic customer expectations.

Requirements

• Education: Doctorate, Master's, or Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience: 1+ years of data-science experience with a Doctorate; 3+ years with a Master's; 5+ years with a Bachelor's; or equivalent experience.
• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to upgrade to TS/SCI (with polygraph).

Nice to Have

• Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years data-science experience.
• OR Master's Degree AND 6+ years data-science experience.
• OR Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years data-science experience.
