About the Position
We're seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our R&D team in Kyiv, Ukraine, focusing on predictive analytics and machine learning model development.
Responsibilities
- Independently explore existing data sources (internal databases, external APIs, registries) and formulate hypotheses for improving business processes.
- Design, build, and implement ML models for predictive analytics (demand forecasting, supply risk assessment, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance for equipment/drones).
- Set up the full data workflow: from collection and cleaning to deploying models in production.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and operations teams to integrate solutions into backend systems.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of mathematical statistics, probability theory, and ML algorithms (Gradient Boosting, Time Series forecasting, Regression, Clustering).
- Practical experience in building high-accuracy predictive models for real business needs.
- Proficiency in Python and key analytics/ML libraries (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, xgboost/lightgbm, statsmodels).
- Strong experience with PostgreSQL and other relational/analytical databases, ability to write complex optimized SQL queries.
- Ability to independently "dig" into data, find non-obvious correlations, and form high-quality features.
- Ability to write clean, modular code.
- Experience with Docker.
- Ability to independently wrap a model into a service (FastAPI) and deploy it on a Linux server or in the cloud.
- High level of autonomy: Ability to set tasks independently, identify "white spots" in data, and bring ideas to production without micromanagement.
- Business-oriented mindset: Ability to speak the language of metrics (ROI, costs, risks), not just accuracy/MSE.
- Good English language skills (reading technical documentation and analytics).
Nice to Have
- Experience in the fields of Hardware, IoT, DefenseTech, logistics, or manufacturing.
- Experience creating automated ETL/ELT pipelines (Airflow, Prefect, dbt, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience with BI/Data Visualization tools (Grafana, Metabase, Superset).
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS).
