About the Position
We are seeking a Senior Database Engineer (Sybase) to join our team in Hyderabad, India. As a key player in our Global Loans domain, you will design, migrate, and optimize database solutions that power our global loan products and services. Leveraging your expertise in Sybase, you will modernize and enhance our database landscape, ensuring seamless transitions and robust performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver complex database implementation projects supporting the implementation of our vendor product, LoanIQ.
- Execute complex database migration and upgrade projects on Sybase.
- Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects for Sybase.
- Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and developers to translate business requirements into effective, scalable database solutions.
- Ensure database performance, reliability, and scalability through rigorous optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain data integration strategies, including ETL processes, to support Global Loan products and operations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of database designs, migration processes, and changes to support transparency and compliance.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate code, test, & debug workflows.
- Promote AI-based engineering practices & cloud best practices within the team.
Requirements

Must have
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with, and in-depth knowledge of, Sybase.
- Strong hands-on experience with Sybase database platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.
- Experience with data integration, ETL tools, and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.

- Familiarity with additional database technologies or platforms.
- Experience with cloud-based data warehousing solutions.
- Knowledge of finance and global loans systems.
- Skills in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation and data processing.
