Senior Data/Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Data/Platform Engineer to join one of the world's leading meal-kit delivery companies. In this role, you will support the core data infrastructure that enables analytics, decision-making, and data-driven operations across the organization.

About the Position

As part of the Data Streaming & Operations team, you will own and operate critical data infrastructure components, including:

  • Snowflake
  • AWS-based data services
  • Kubernetes clusters
  • Databricks

Your focus will be on ensuring the reliability, scalability, and smooth day-to-day operation of our data platform. You'll also work on continuously improving the experience for internal users and supporting the evolution of our broader data ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact point for Snowflake support, assisting internal users with day-to-day operational activities
  • Support users during development on Snowflake, including troubleshooting and testing of new features
  • Provide structured support via Slack and office hours, including triage and prioritization of requests
  • Offer support for Databricks and the AWS data stack (S3, Spark on EMR) as needed
  • Assist teams with migrating workloads between data platforms or vendors when required
  • Collaborate with the Data Streaming & Operations team to improve support processes and reduce operational load
  • Contribute to documentation, best practices, and user enablement
  • When capacity permits, contribute to platform improvements and automation

Requirements

  • Strong production experience with Snowflake
  • Experience supporting production-grade data platforms and internal users
  • Hands-on experience with AWS data tooling, especially S3 and Spark (EMR)
  • Experience working with Kubernetes-based environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with internal stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Databricks
  • Familiarity with Airflow
  • Java knowledge (useful for understanding Kafka internals and log inspection; no active coding expected)
