Senior Developer (Angular+Java)

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Developer (Angular+Java) with 12+ years of experience to join our corporate banking team in Singapore. This role involves developing and maintaining front-end and back-end systems for our client, the corporate and investment banking arm of The Group, the world's 10th largest bank by total assets.

Responsibilities

• Build & Change Management

  • Lead in terms of technology and conceptualize, propose design and architectural evolution, along with operational model.
  • Contribute to the development of high-quality, fully tested source code complying with deadlines, schedule, and coding standards.
  • Liaise with business analysts for clarification and understanding of requirements.
  • Provide deployment and change management of the solution/platform.
  • Develop test strategy in coordination with project manager/Business Analysts.
  • Provide technical assistance during user acceptance test.
  • Incidents and requests management (business users and other IT teams).
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Analyze enhancement requests and bug-fixes.
  • Document deliveries.

• Support Applications in Production

  • Analyze and resolve issues as they arise and propose optimizations for the future.
  • Monitor the results and quality of the different software solutions and projects implemented in the organization.

• Change Management

  • Apply monthly release strategy, following the team's milestones for analysis, coding, and testing.
  • Support the release roadmap in production.

• Operations Management

  • Application support, level 3 (expert).
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues.

• Continuous Improvement

  • Process improvements.

Requirements

Must Have

• Master or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Programming & Systems Analysis/ Science (Computer Studies) faculties.
• At least 12 years of software development experience, including 8+ years of front-end development.
• Front-End Expertise
  • Advanced proficiency in Angular 19+.
  • Deep knowledge of AG Grid, NgRx store, Angular signals, and signal store.
  • Strong sensitivity to design and UX principles.
  • Experience conducting code reviews and enforcing Angular development best practices.
  • Ability to ensure consistency and homogeneity across front-end implementations.
  • Development of automated BDD tests.
• Back-End Knowledge
  • Experience with Java, Python, REST APIs, and FastAPI.
  • Ability to develop and maintain back-end services as needed.
• DevOps & Infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with GitOps, ArgoCD, Maven, and Git.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (Elasticsearch).
• Cloud & Architecture
  • Experience with cloud-native architecture and AWS.
  • Understanding of distributed systems and scalability patterns.
• Technical Fundamentals
  • Good knowledge of algorithms and data structures, with strong fundamentals in complexity analysis.
  • Strong ability to analyze code, understand execution flow, and debug even without access to a debugger.
  • Proficiency with static analysis tools (SonarQube).
  • Good knowledge of SQL (PostgreSQL, Redis) or SQL-inspired dialects (e.g., HQL).
  • Experience writing and maintaining integration tests.
• Collaboration Tools
  • Experience with Jira or similar issue-tracking systems.
  • Commitment to software craftsmanship and DevOps culture.
• AI & Automation
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize AI-powered tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals including prompt engineering, model limitations, and best practices for human-AI collaboration.
  • Experience in evaluating AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for AI integration and automation within existing workflows and processes.

Nice to Have

• Web development fundamentals (HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, jQuery, ReactJS, etc).
• Strong familiarity with Linux and bash.
• Expertise in some or all of the following:
  • JupyterLab, JupyterHub, Jupyter notebook, Mercury ecosystem.
  • Understanding or interest in finance & financial markets, particularly interest rate derivatives in their many forms (IRS, Forwards, Futures, Swaptions, etc).
