About the Position
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with 5+ years of experience in CI/CD pipelines to join our automotive software team in Guadalajara, Mexico. The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, development infrastructure, and test environments used by distributed engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automotive software development and testing.
- Automate build, integration, testing, deployment, and reporting processes.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD workflows using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or equivalent.
- Manage and optimize build and test environments used by distributed development and testing teams.
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, including software, integration, and system-level testing.
- Automate infrastructure and environment provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Develop scripts and automation tools using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Configure and maintain build agents, runners, virtual machines, containers, and other CI infrastructure.
- Monitor pipeline performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements.
- Troubleshoot build, deployment, infrastructure, connectivity, and automation issues.
- Implement mechanisms for automated test-result collection, reporting, logging, and traceability.
- Collaborate with software developers, test engineers, and technical leads to improve development and testing workflows.
- Establish and maintain branching, versioning, artifact management, and release processes.
- Support integration of automotive development and testing tools into the CI/CD ecosystem.
- Ensure appropriate security, access control, and credential management within CI/CD environments.
- Define and maintain DevOps best practices, documentation, and technical standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, reduce manual effort, and increase development and testing efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD, build/release engineering, or related roles.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Advanced knowledge of Git and version-control workflows.
- Strong scripting/programming skills in Python and/or Bash.
- Experience with Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or equivalent CI/CD platforms.
- Experience with Linux environments and command-line tools.
- Experience with Docker and containerized environments.
- Experience with automated testing integration within CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience working with distributed engineering teams.
- Ability to independently analyze problems and implement technical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Automotive industry experience, preferably in embedded software development or testing.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with ECU software development and integration.
- Experience with HIL/SIL/MIL environments.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines for safety-critical or embedded systems.
