Responsibilities

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you'll play a critical part in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD platform on Microsoft Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance for our applications. This is a 6-month contract with the potential to extend. Other things you can expect to do include:

  • Design, build, and operate secure, reliable, and scalable Azure infrastructure across all TransferRoom products, using infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Terragrunt).
  • Own and evolve CI/CD: build and deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps (YAML), shared pipeline templates, and containerized deployments.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents end-to-end - from alert to root cause - across application, database, and infrastructure layers, and write it up.
  • Drive database reliability and performance work on Azure SQL: performance analysis, capacity and cost right-sizing, telemetry-based investigation.
  • Improve observability (Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Grafana) and keep alerting meaningful.
  • Contribute to platform-wide initiatives: environment standardization, networking and private connectivity, certificate and DNS management, cloud cost optimization.
  • Raise the engineering bar: automation over manual change, documentation, and SRE process improvements.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in DevOps/SRE/platform roles
  • Strong Microsoft Azure knowledge across compute, networking, SQL, and identity
  • Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform (Terragrunt a plus)
  • CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance - Azure DevOps preferred
  • Docker and container-based deployment
  • Microsoft SQL Server / Azure SQL administration and performance troubleshooting
  • Scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Bash
  • Fluent English; comfortable in a fast-moving scale-up
  • Structured incident troubleshooting and root-cause analysis

Nice to Have

  • Experience with other cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes

TransferRoomTransferRoom is a hyper-growth B2B SaaS Marketplace on a mission to change the football transfer market for the better. We do this by empowering football clubs, agents and players to be successful in the transfer market by giving them real-time market intelligence and direct access to a global network of decision-makers.TransferRoom is market leading and has become a must have for key stakeholders in football’s transfer market. It’s used by 800+ clubs, including Man City, Liverpool and PSG, 550+ agencies and 8000 professional players. It has empowered clubs and agents to facilitate over 6500 transfers since launch in 2017.Our StoryIn 2016, Jonas Ankersen started intensive market research and was meeting sporting directors from football clubs across Europe to discuss their challenges in the transfer market. It became apparent that the key issue in the transfer market was the lack of transparency and access to credible market information. There was very often no direct line of communication between decision-makers. Buying clubs had no reliable intelligence about which players were available, while selling clubs lacked information about which player profiles the buying clubs were seeking. When selling a player you want to appeal to as many potential buyers as possible, and when buying you want to be exposed to as many relevant options as possible. This is in essence what TransferRoom is about: more market access and more transparency.Online marketplaces have transformed most industries and made them more efficient. For years football clubs had restricted access to the transfer market. TransferRoom is now changing this.Digitizing football’s transfer marketTransferRoom is taking football’s transfer market into the digital age and making football transfers easy.TransferRoom is a community exclusively for the key stakeholders in the football transfer system. We empower our customers to be successful in the transfer market by giving them instant access to the best market information and a second-to-none network of global connections. Our Development TeamWe have a diverse, growing Development team at TransferRoom. Before the war we organised regular team building trips, giving everyone the opportunity to meet outside of work in settings outside of our normal working environment. Our previous team building trips include Barcelona and Sharm El- Skeikh. While all of this is on hold given the conflict, it is one of the first things we will organise once the war is over.Supporting UkraineTransferRoom stands fully united behind our Ukraine team in the face of the Russian invasion of the country. We were shocked along with the rest of the world with the speed of the events last February and with the scale of the conflict since then.We no longer allow customers from Russia or Belarus onto our platform. We have donated to various organizations since the war began totalling over £35,000 GBP in donations to date from big humanitarian aid organizations to smaller grassroots organizations that we know are doing great work.Ukraine is and will always be our destination of choice for technical talent.www.linkedin.com/... 4dxvNXxSrir4ktArgDD_qLTkoRecruitment processWe run a streamlined recruitment process.Stage One — Recruiter screen.
