Senior DevOps Engineer (Cloud & Terraform)

Responsibilities

• Shaping the Horizon: Decide on new or better tools/automation, new platform components. Do all this as optimally as possible.
• Developer Experience: Lead the adoption of best practices for CI/CD and monitoring parts.
• Cloud Migration: Curate the implementation of a hybrid-cloud setup for our Client's data platform.
• Collaboration: Provide expert advice on infrastructural services and cloud stack for operation support engineers (SL2) during incident investigation and mitigation. Work closely with software engineers on implementing new platform offerings.

Requirements

• Must Have:

  • 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer
  • Linux expertise: sensible knowledge of Linux internals, expert shell scripting.
  • Programming proficiency: basic proficiency with at least one JVM language (Java, Scala/Kotlin) and Python.
  • Automation experience: hands-on experience with CI/CD platforms like classic ones (Teamcity/Jenkins) and modern ones (GitHub Actions is a plus).
  • Verifiable experience with containers and orchestration (k8s), related tooling (like Helm or Grafana).
  • Experience with major cloud providers (GCP is a strong plus).
  • Experience with Infra as Code tools (like Terraform or Pulumi) is a must.
  • Monitoring & instrumentation: hands-on experience with logging, monitoring & alerting tools (e.g. LGTM stack or competitors).

• Nice to Have:

  • Distributed systems experience: operational experience with distributed services deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in Kubernetes environments, including deployment and operations using the Strimzi Operator, Kafka cluster setup/configuration, and ongoing infrastructure management (scaling, monitoring, reliability, and maintenance).
  • Familiarity with Hadoop stack, Apache Spark, and analytical database system (like Clickhouse/BigQuery/Exadata).
  • Enterprise Cloud tools: experience with OpenShift (plus), hybrid on-prem/cloud setups (like Google Anthos) - strong plus.
  • Data pipeline orchestration tools: experience with tools like Apache Airflow is strong plus.
