About the Position

Senior Electrical Simulation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Simulation Engineer to join our innovative team at Helion in Everett, WA. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and validating detailed circuit and system models that ensure the safe and stable operation of our fusion systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and validation of electrical simulation models at the circuit and systems levels
  • Integrate electrical models with mechanical, thermal, and controls simulations to evaluate multidisciplinary interactions and optimize overall system performance
  • Develop automation scripts to enable repeatable, automated execution of simulation activities
  • Work with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to support bring-up, integration, and root-cause analysis
  • Evaluate and deploy new simulation tools and processes to improve model fidelity, efficiency, and scalability
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers in simulation techniques, model validation, and best practices

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience creating system-level simulations in environments such as Simulink to capture dynamic behavior, fault response, and control interactions
  • Experience with controls, power electronics, and energy delivery systems
  • Experience developing and validating circuit-level electrical models using tools such as SPICE, Simetrix/Simplis, PLECS, or PSIM
  • Experience with leading the design and execution of test campaigns to validate and refine simulation models through experimental measurement
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting languages for automation, data analysis, report generation, and workflow integration
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail in model validation and documentation
  • Collaborate closely with cross-disciplinary engineering teams
