Do you want to combine operational responsibility for physical power settlement with automation and development of unit work processes? The Physical Power Settlement Unit (MRNNS) is looking for a Senior Energy Operator for a 1-year engagement. The role combines daily operational power settlement, including balance settlement and customer settlement, with improvement work and automation as well as support for the implementation of MARI and PICASSO and MRNNS's Operating Model.

About the Position

MRNNS operates in a market characterized by increasing complexity, high pace of change, and new requirements for efficiency, automation, compliance, and operational robustness. Therefore, we need a resource who can both contribute to daily physical power settlement and take an active role in simplifying, automating, and improving our work processes.

The role is suitable for someone with practical experience in physical power settlement in the Nordic region, a good understanding of the physical power market, and solid IT skills. You are motivated by using technology, data analysis, and system understanding to streamline work processes, improve quality and control to free up capacity for new business needs.

Responsibilities

Approximately 50% operational physical power settlement:

• Daily follow-up of physical power settlement, including balance settlement, customer settlement, etc.
• Operational dialogue with relevant internal and external interfaces, including market actors and system environments.
• Contribute to the implementation of market changes MARI and PICASSO.

Approximately 50% automation, efficiency, and improvement:

• Develop and improve work processes through established systems, Brady, Python, AI, data analysis, and relevant IT tools.
• Contribute to improved Operating Model, standardization, and more robust end-to-end processes.

Central Work Areas

Operational Power Settlement

• Perform daily physical power settlement – balance settlement and contract settlement in the Nordic power market.
• Contribute to the correct handling of physical power settlement and reporting.
• Ensure good operational compliance in the settlement processes.
• Understand and follow up on market processes related to both hydropower and wind power.
• Collaborate with relevant interfaces in MR, ME, MF, NF, and IT environments as well as external market actors.

Automation, Efficiency, and Improvement "Target Operating Model"

• Translate improvement opportunities into concrete solutions.
• Contribute to better data flow, data quality, and system support in the operational value chain.
• Support the implementation and operationalization of MARI and PICASSO, with a particular focus on the consequences for physical power settlement.
• Contribute to MR's strategy through standardization, simplification, automation, and a more scalable Operating Model.
• Be an active contributor in improvement work across processes, systems, data, and roles.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Master's degree in energy, technology, economics, IT, data analysis, or a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in physical power settlement.
• Good knowledge of the physical power market in the Nordic region, both hydropower and wind power.
• Good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of key market actors, such as TSO, producers, eSett, Elhub, balance responsible parties, and other relevant market actors.
• Solid proficiency in Python, Brady, and experience in using programming, data, and relevant IT systems for automation and efficiency in operational work.
• Good system and process understanding, and the ability to see connections across data, process, settlement, control, and reporting.
• Experience in improvement work, digitalization, or automation of operational processes.
• Good understanding of organizational structures, governance models, roles, and responsibilities.

Languages

• Fluent Norwegian and English, both spoken and written
