Job Description, Responsibilities & Requirements

About the Position

We’re seeking a highly organized and analytical Senior Executive, Finance with a strong audit background to support our financial operations and reporting in Kota Damansara. In this role, you will bridge the gap between executive leadership and daily accounting operations. Leveraging your audit experience, you will be instrumental in strengthening internal controls, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, assisting with budgeting, and overseeing month-end closures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
  • Oversee and review daily accounting transactions, bank reconciliations, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger (GL) entries to ensure a seamless closing process.
  • Leverage your audit background to evaluate, implement, and maintain robust internal controls, ensuring strict compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external and internal auditors, as well as tax agents, spearheading the preparation of audit schedules and ensuring efficient statutory audits and tax filings.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Manager to develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts, ensuring financial alignment with corporate goals.
  • Conduct comprehensive monthly variance analysis, comparing actual financial performance against budgets to identify key trends and areas for cost optimization.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior accountants, fostering a high standard of accuracy and professional development within the finance team.

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Bring a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance, including a strong background in external or internal audit.
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of current accounting standards, audit methodologies, risk management, and local tax regulations.
  • Exhibit advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or SQL).
  • Showcase meticulous attention to detail with the proven ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into actionable business insights.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
