About the Position
Senior Expert Maritime Systems Engineering (w/m/d)
We are seeking a Senior Expert Maritime Systems Engineering (w/m/d) to join our Systems Engineering team at locations including Wilhelmshaven, Kiel, Rostock, and Hamburg. Shape the future of maritime systems with us by developing scalable, modern, and secure systems for critical applications.
Responsibilities
- Guidance and Implementation: Lead, manage, and independently execute the development of complex maritime system solutions, focusing on sensor technology, mission, and command information systems.
- System Architecture: Develop and refine system architectures, providing support for architectural decisions throughout the engineering lifecycle.
- Technical Analysis: Analyze and evaluate customer requirements, creating technical concepts, specifications, and interface descriptions.
- System Integration: Independently manage system integration, verification, validation, technical reviews, and acceptance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with interdisciplinary engineering teams, product lines, suppliers, and customers.
- Project Support: Assist project management with technical issues, contribute to risk assessments, and develop solution strategies.
- Innovation: Develop new engineering methods, tools, and standards in the maritime environment.
Requirements
- Education: Completed degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Communication Engineering, Physics, or a comparable qualification.
- Experience: Several years of relevant experience (up to 5 years) in systems engineering of complex systems, ideally in defense or maritime sectors.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of system architectures, MBSE methods, and relevant standards (e.g., MILSTD, STANAG).
- Skills: Experience in development, integration, or testing phases of system projects.
- Languages: Excellent German and English language skills.
- Abilities: Ability to prioritize tasks, strong conceptual skills, excellent analytical and design skills for optimizing existing processes, high level of business acumen, recognition and pursuit of business opportunities in collaboration with the business unit, experience in leading sub-projects, projects, and project teams.
