Senior Field Application Engineer - CMOS Image Sensor

About the Position

Silvaco is seeking an experienced Senior Field Application Engineer in CMOS Image Sensor Technology. This role involves using technical knowledge of Silvaco product offerings and a basic understanding of customers’ technical workflows and objectives to advise customers in their simulation efforts and address their technical obstacles.

Responsibilities

• Work with users of Silvaco tools to:
  • Capture and isolate potential technical issues and suggest workarounds or alternate approaches to relieve the problem and/or raise the issues to the business unit as bug reports.
  • Understand customer workflow and represent user-defined needs and feedback into business units.
  • Optimize customers’ experience with Silvaco tools by promoting configuration improvements and/or incorporating new features and capabilities.
• Work with applicable customer departments and functions to assure Silvaco products are properly installed and help validate the installations.
• Make technical presentations for products, use cases, and support status updates to customers. Support sales efforts by articulating technical value propositions, as well as demonstrating prototypes and product features.
• Generate ideas for configuration and workflow improvements based on obstacles customers face in their work.
• Document evaluation plans and customer support cases in Salesforce CRM.
• Keep up with advancements in key applications and workflow implementation.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics Engineering, Solid State Physics, or a semiconductor-related academic program.
• More than 5 years of industry experience.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in Semiconductor manufacturing, R&D, and/or integrated circuit design processes.
  • Must have demonstrated experience in CMOS Image Sensor manufacturing, R&D, and/or IP design processes.
• Must have demonstrated experience in design, modeling, and/or simulation tool usage as part of academic coursework, applied research, and industry work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Intellectually inquisitive with creative problem-solving skills.
• Persistence in tracking complex problems and projects with minimal oversight.
• The ability to prioritize activities and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in remote work team environments preferred.
• Application-specific experience:
  • CMOS Image Sensor (CIS) manufacturing, device operation including TCAD Process and device simulation.
  • Experience in CIS mask design, FSI/BSI architecture, pinned/non-pinned potodiode process, and device simulation.
  • Experience and understanding of 3T, 4T CIS architecture, Rolling/Global Shutter paradigm, modeling 1D/2D stitching.
  • Experience in optoelectronics, process, and device simulation.
  • Experience in process design & mask design for CIS application.
  • Experience in CIS PDKs.
• Tool category experience:
  • Commercial TCAD Tools (Silvaco or 3rd Party).
  • Statistical tools and methods (e.g., JMP, Minitab, etc.).
  • Python scripting.
