About the Position
We are looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team at TMC in Milan, Italy. The role involves developing flight software for our satellite fleet and new spacecraft, working in an international and highly innovative environment.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the full lifecycle of the software application, focusing on: requirement gathering, development, debugging, and integration with flight hardware.
- Validate functionalities through software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
- Research new technologies in embedded software and promote their adoption within the team.
- Support the continuous improvement of processes and methodologies within the group.
- Provide support for AIV activities (Assembly, Integration, and Verification) and flight operations.
Requirements
- Native proficiency in Italian (written and spoken), advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the role or related disciplines.
- Master's degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or similar.
- Experience in embedded software development.
- Experience with embedded programming in C-family languages.
- Knowledge of real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as RTEMS or FreeRTOS, and/or embedded application operating systems (e.g., Embedded Linux).
- Knowledge of key embedded communication interfaces: USART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, EtherCAT.
- Experience with the configuration and use of build toolchains (e.g., ANT, WAF, Makefile, Visual Studio, etc.).
- Familiarity with Git.
- Experience with test-driven development methodologies.
We Offer
- A permanent contract.
- A gross annual salary (RAL) of at least €36,000, in line with the CAO Handel - Tertiary, Distribution, and Services.
- A competitive compensation package that may include direct participation in project profits (profit sharing), an individual skill development budget of 4,000 net euros per year, and an annual wellness budget.
