About the Position

Senior Front End Engineer with QA background (Playwright)

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Front End Engineer for a full-time hybrid position (40 hours per week) in Poland. Our client is one of the world's largest food retailers.

The tech stack consists mainly of React, TypeScript, and a bit of Node.js, with extensive use of in-house libraries and toolkits. Experience in such an environment is welcome.

The perfect candidate is someone between a QA Specialist and a Senior Front-end Developer who can test the vendor’s API and also carry out some development work. The team needs a senior developer with some experience with Playwright; the plan is to work alongside someone from the engineering team, but mainly with the QA team.

• Hybrid mode: 3 days per week working from the office in Kraków.
• Contract duration: 6 months (from September 1st until the end of February) with a possible extension.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain front-end applications using React and TypeScript.
• Design, implement, and maintain automated end-to-end tests using Playwright.
• Work closely with both Engineering and QA teams to ensure product quality and reliable test coverage.
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot integrations with vendor-provided APIs.
• Support QA activities by identifying, reproducing, and helping resolve defects.
• Contribute to front-end development tasks and feature enhancements as needed.
• Participate in code reviews and promote best practices in development and test automation.
• Work effectively within an environment that leverages extensive in-house libraries, frameworks, and toolkits.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience as a Senior Front-End Developer.
• Expert knowledge of React and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright and test automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, QA processes, and automation strategies.
• Understanding of testing and integrating REST APIs or third-party/vendor APIs.
• Practical knowledge of Node.js.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both development and QA teams.
• Experience working with large-scale applications and custom/internal frameworks or libraries.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, quality-driven mindset.

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in a hybrid role combining Front-End Development and QA automation.
• Experience working in agile development environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows.
