Senior Front-End Software Engineer for Baltic Web & UI Team (Angular)

We’re looking for a Web Developer to help build and evolve our UI library and develop our new internet bank.

In Swedbank you have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with the Baltic Web App & UI team and key stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective UI designs using Angular and TypeScript;
  • Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces, adhering to best practices and industry standards;
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring high performance and scalability;
  • Work closely with back-end developers to integrate UI components with server-side logic;
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of UI components;
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Angular development and apply them to ongoing projects;
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers and product owners, to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Baltic Web App & UI team and key stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into effective UI designs using Angular and TypeScript;
  • Develop responsive and interactive user interfaces, adhering to best practices and industry standards;
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring high performance and scalability;
  • Work closely with back-end developers to integrate UI components with server-side logic;
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure the quality and reliability of UI components;
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in Angular development and apply them to ongoing projects;
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers and product owners, to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of TypeScript (including generics and decorators) with hands-on Angular experience in a large-scale enterprise codebase;
  • Ability to design clean, reusable component interfaces and build custom Web Components using native browser APIs;
  • Experience with unit testing (Vitest/Jest) and end-to-end and accessibility testing (Playwright);
  • Solid understanding of WCAG standards and accessible component patterns;
  • Familiarity with Nx, Vite/esbuild, ESM modules, and CI/CD release pipelines;
  • Ability to enforce coding standards using ESLint and Prettier, and maintain shared library documentation;
  • Proficiency with Git workflows (branching strategies, code reviews, and pull requests) in a large, multi-team repository;
  • Understanding of agile principles and experience working in sprint-based delivery teams;
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate effectively across teams.
