Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer with experience in TypeScript and React to join our Developer Experience organization in Göteborg, Sweden. As part of our team, you will help us build Cars' internal developer portal using Backstage.io open-source software. This portal will serve as the central hub for our internal developers, unifying infrastructure tooling, services, and developer documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a set of core plugins for the Backstage app at Cars.
• Design the developer experience and lifecycle of plugins for other teams contributing to the portal.
• Work closely with your team to build up our development portal.
• Maintain and update the portal as new tools and resources are added.
• Support our users in utilizing the portal effectively.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in web development.
• Expertise in writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and React.
• Strong knowledge of Git and GitHub.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Architectural mindset with a good understanding of DevOps, GitOps, and Platform Engineering.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer.

Nice to Have

• Experience or familiarity with Backstage.io, including building and maintaining.
