About the Role
At Rulemapping, we make applicable law machine-readable. You will build the web applications that authorities and companies work with this technology, from React frontend to NestJS backend, in close collaboration with UX and Product Management.
Responsibilities
- Develop performant, maintainable frontend components with React, Panda CSS, and TanStack Router, working closely with UX/UI (Figma) and Product Management on user-centered features.
- Implement and maintain scalable REST backends in NestJS, with clean architectural principles and clear API design.
- Manage database design, query optimization, and migrations in PostgreSQL, integrate Keycloak for authentication, and securely connect the Rulemapping Automation Backend.
- Utilize AI tools like Claude Code for code generation, refactoring, and testing. Maintain code quality with ESLint, Prettier, Vitest, Jest, Playwright, and structured code reviews.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, knowledge sharing within the team, and the setup of our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Deployment), evaluating new technologies to keep the platform technically up-to-date and scalable in the long term.
Requirements
- Several years of experience in fullstack development of modern web applications. Whether with a computer science degree or self-taught with proven practical experience, what you have built is crucial.
- Deep understanding of TypeScript, React, and PostgreSQL. Knowledge of Python is a plus.
- Proficient in state management, APIs, authentication (Keycloak), and frontend performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of software architectures, data flows, and API design.
- Experience with Vite and common tools for testing and code quality, along with a basic understanding of CI/CD and cloud environments.
- You work independently, think pragmatically, and write code that others like to develop further. You stay actively informed about new technologies and trends.
