Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (m/w/d)

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (m/w/d) to join our InsurTech team in Hamburg, Germany. You'll be responsible for designing architecture, working across the entire stack, and ensuring technical quality.

Responsibilities

• Architecture from the start: You will be involved in making technical decisions from the beginning. Collaborate with the team to shape the system based on experience and standards.
• Work across the entire stack: Frontend, Backend, Infrastructure, DevOps – there are no artificial boundaries. You will work across the entire stack and be responsible for features from conception to production deployment.
• Ensure technical quality: Code reviews, automated tests, and CI/CD pipelines are part of your daily routine, along with the commitment to write code that will stand the test of time.
• Own features from idea to release: Participate in technical discussions and whiteboard sessions at eye level and actively shape how the system is built.
• Set technical standards in the team: Work with junior developers and elevate the entire team's level through your experience and work style.

Requirements

• Completed degree with an analytical focus and excellent grades: Computer Science, Informatics, or similar – your grades show us the level of commitment you bring to your work.
• Software developer by passion: You develop because you want to, not because you have to. Personal projects, side projects, or open-source contributions are the strongest signals for us and say more than any cover letter.
• At least 4 years of experience in software development: In agile environments, with proven depth in a subject. Those who have spent more time in meetings than developing will not be happy with a complex Greenfield project.
• Quick onboarding to new technologies: You have proven that you can understand complex systems. It matters less which stack you have used so far, but rather whether you know why you used it that way.
• Architecture understanding: You think in systems. Experience with software architecture or Greenfield projects will make the transition easier, but it is not a requirement. We use AI tools like Claude Code and Cursor for efficiency, but you understand and are responsible for the code they generate.
• Fluent German (min. C1) and communication skills: Technical discussions and team coordination take place in German. In code reviews, you provide honest feedback and expect the same in return.
