About the Position
We are looking for a Field Integration Engineer for drone systems in Kyiv, Ukraine, focusing on system integration and field deployment. The Fourth Law / Четвертий Закон develops autonomy technologies for drones used by Ukrainian defense units and drone manufacturers. The company works at the intersection of hardware, software, autonomy, and field deployment. Its solutions are used by more than 50 units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and integrated by 20+ drone manufacturers.
Responsibilities
- Support integration of the company’s software stack into partners’ hardware platforms, both remotely and on-site.
- Conduct field tests of software products and autonomous systems in real operating conditions. Check communication stability, system behavior, and AI algorithm performance in practical scenarios.
- Troubleshoot issues at the hardware-software interface level.
- Configure systems for specific customer conditions and requirements.
- Execute test plans to verify system parameters, radio link reliability, and operational stability.
- Document test results, technical issues, and field feedback for the engineering team.
- Run technical demonstrations and train partners and users on system operation and maintenance.
Requirements
- Experience in system integration of complex software-hardware products.
- Hands-on experience with setup, maintenance, or troubleshooting of FPV copters and/or fixed-wing drones.
- Understanding of drone systems, field testing, and practical technical support.
- Ability to diagnose and solve technical issues in non-standard conditions.
- Readiness for frequent field trips and on-site work.
- Valid driver’s license, as the role involves transportation of equipment.
- Accuracy, ownership, and ability to make technical decisions without long delays.
Nice to Have
- Experience with drone protocols and tools such as MAVLink, ELRS, QGroundControl, or Mission Planner.
- Linux skills at the level of configuration and terminal navigation.
- Understanding of electronics and interfaces such as UART, CAN, and MIPI-CSI.
