Senior Automation Engineer

About the Position

BIScience is looking for a seasoned Senior Automation Engineer to join the team working on our flagship SaaS UI product. In this role, you will help ensure reliable product delivery by performing comprehensive QA analysis across new features, product changes, and releases.

You will work closely with Product Managers, UI/UX Designers, and Engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle - from requirements review and feature planning to validation and launch. As part of the team, you will help improve product quality, reliability, and customer trust on one of the leading platforms for digital intelligence analytics.

Responsibilities

• Perform automated and manual quality control activities across web, API, and integration layers.
• Design, execute, and maintain test cases, test scenarios, checklists, and test reports.
• Build, maintain, and execute automated UI tests using Java and Selenium WebDriver.
• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to ensure testability and coverage.
• Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, DevOps, and Product Managers to validate new features, edge cases, and regression risks.
• Investigate issues in staging and production environments and contribute to root cause analysis.
• Promote quality and reliability throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial QA experience, including client-side web testing and server-side API/integration testing.
• 2+ years of commercial experience with UI test automation, with designing or significantly contributing to maintainable automation frameworks.
• Solid understanding of client-server architecture and microservices.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Strong understanding of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, RESTful APIs.
• Practical experience with relational databases. Solid SQL skills for querying and data validation.
• Hands-on experience with Linux.
• Basic understanding of Docker.
• Confident use of Jira, Confluence, DevTools, Postman, or similar tools.
• Good communication skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Experience with performance and load testing tools, e.g. JMeter or Gatling.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools, e.g. Grafana or ELK stack.
