About the Position

Senior Haskell Developer

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Haskell Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Europe.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain the company’s internal platform and booking engine using Haskell and TypeScript.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new features and improve existing functionality.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize platform performance to ensure reliability and efficiency.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of scalable and maintainable software solutions.
• Utilize knowledge of PHP and JavaScript (considered a plus) to support integrations and related tasks.
• Work independently as a self-starter in a semi-virtual environment while meeting project goals and deadlines.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality standards and best practices are followed.
• Identify and implement improvements to development workflows and platform usability.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Haskell.
• Strong fundamentals in functional programming.
• Ability to balance real-world needs with writing robust, correct, and maintainable code.
• Proficient with Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
• Interest in Domain Driven Design and software architecture.
• Experience working with PostgreSQL databases.
• Fluency in writing tests at various levels (unit, integration, e2e, …).
• Knowledge of Design Patterns and functional programming idioms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong work ethic with excellent time-management and organizational abilities.
• Quick learner who can adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible, friendly, and with a good sense of humor.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Nice to Have

• Experience in the travel-tech industry.
• Previous hands-on experience with Yesod and Halogen frameworks.
• Contributions to open-source software projects.
• Experience in designing and developing APIs.
• Background in app development.
• Experience working with WordPress.
• Experience with TypeScript/React/PureScript.
• Knowledge of Nix.
