About the Position
Senior HR Advisor

Salary: £23.3 - £25.52 per hour

Are you an experienced HR professional with a strong background in organisational change, employee relations, and job evaluation? We are seeking an HR Advisor / Senior HR Advisor to play a pivotal role in supporting a significant organisational restructuring programme within a Public Sector organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR practitioner who enjoys complex project work, providing expert advice to senior stakeholders, and delivering positive organisational change.
Responsibilities
- Restructuring: Leading a senior leadership restructure, including consultation processes with committees and key stakeholders.
- Job Descriptions & Contracts Review: Undertaking a review of job descriptions, role profiles, and contracts of employment using the NJC Job Evaluation Scheme.
- Employee Relations Casework: Managing complex employee relations casework, including grievance, disciplinary, capability/performance, and absence management cases.
- Advisory Role: Advising managers on employment law, HR policy, and best practice.
- Stakeholder Management: Building strong working relationships with trade union representatives and stakeholders across the organisation.
- Coaching: Coaching managers to develop confidence and capability in managing people issues effectively.
- Supporting Projects: Supporting wider HR and organisational development projects as required.
Requirements
- Qualifications: CIPD Level 5 qualification or equivalent HR experience.
- Experience: Experience of working within unionised public sector environments.
- Skills: Significant experience managing complex employee relations casework. Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application. Experience supporting organisational change, restructures, or consultation exercises. Experience reviewing job descriptions, terms and conditions, and workforce structures and knowledge of job evaluation, ideally NJC.
- Attributes: Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills. A proactive, pragmatic, and solutions-focused approach. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
We Offer
- Contract Duration: 3 to 6 months with scope for longer-term contracts / extensions.
- Work Hours: Full Time 37 hours.
- Location: 2-3 days per week on site in Petersfield.
- Contract Management: Via Hays online weekly time sheets.
