Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer (Portugal)

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our team in Portugal. At Nscale, we provide cost-effective, high-performance infrastructure for AI start-ups and large enterprise customers. Our Operations team plays a critical role in maintaining service availability, driving service reliability, and rapid response to customer tickets.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex data centre systems.
• Lead large-scale infrastructure projects and evaluate emerging technologies.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in high priority technical customer service scenarios.
• Define operational standards, policies, and best practices.
• Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in high-stakes technical scenarios and incidents.
• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to the operations team.
• Conduct performance reviews and assist in strategic planning for future infrastructure needs.
• Engage directly with customers on key projects, escalations, or service delivery improvements.
• Travel to additional data centres to manage deployments, assess operations, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of data centre architecture, cloud platforms, and disaster recovery planning.
• Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis expertise.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.
• 6+ years of experience with a focus on infrastructure design and management.
• Higher-level Advanced certification.

• Exposure to large scale Data Centre environments.
• Hands-on GPU server experience at a tech organization.
• A strong customer service ethic.
