Senior iOS Engineer (KMP) - POS

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior iOS Engineer (KMP) - POS to join our team in Berlin, Germany. As part of the Order Taking squad, you will be responsible for building new ordering experiences in SwiftUI and contributing to Kotlin Multiplatform business logic. This role involves complex mobile engineering across multi-device synchronization, shared order state, and a large, established application.

Team Description

The Order Taking squad owns core ordering experiences within SumUp’s Point of Sale app, including the shopping bag, checkout, the catalog experience within ordering, open orders, table management, and printer integrations. These capabilities help thousands of hospitality merchants manage orders reliably during daily service.

Responsibilities

• Design and build new ordering experiences in SwiftUI, while evolving established capabilities such as table management, kitchen workflows, and printer integrations
• Contribute to shared Kotlin Multiplatform business logic and help shape the architecture of the ordering domain
• Improve the reliability and usability of ordering features used daily by hospitality merchants across phones, tablets, and POS devices
• Collaborate closely with Android engineers and platform teams to maintain consistent cross-platform behavior and reliable multi-device order synchronization
• Take part in code reviews, pair programming, and collaborative testing to maintain a high-quality bar
• Help refine and scope upcoming work, bringing technical judgment to product and architectural trade-offs
• Contribute to Mobile Chapter and KMP platform initiatives across the wider POS tribe

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production iOS applications in Swift, with strong SwiftUI knowledge
• Experience working in a large, established codebase and making pragmatic improvements without requiring a full rewrite
• Openness to learning and contributing to Kotlin and Kotlin Multiplatform; previous hands-on KMP experience is welcome but not required
• Ability to work independently, challenge assumptions, propose solutions proactively, and communicate clearly and directly
• Experience collaborating closely with Android engineers or other cross-platform partners to align product behavior
• Sound technical judgment and the ability to balance product delivery, code quality, and long-term maintainability
