About the Position
We are currently looking for a Senior IT Operations Engineer to join the team of our client from the banking industry. For this role, Optiveum is the recruitment and contracting party, which means you will sign the cooperation agreement directly with us.
Rate: Up to 108 PLN / hour
Work Model: Hybrid (2–3 days per week from the office)
Location: Warszawa or Gdańsk
Duration: October 2026 – end of February 2027, full-time (40h/week) with the real possibility to extend it.
Responsibilities
- Own the incident and problem management process for production incidents: diagnose and resolve issues, run root cause analysis, and put preventive measures in place so problems don't recur.
- Continuously monitor service health, detect anomalies early, and act before they turn into incidents.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that automate build, testing, security scanning, and deployment.
- Keep Pre-Production and Production environments stable, aligned, and behaving as expected day to day.
- Document operational procedures, known issues, and resolution steps to build a reliable knowledge base for the team.
- Work closely with development and platform teams to triage issues, clarify operational requirements, and close the feedback loop between production and development.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in IT operations, application support (2nd/3rd line), or a similar production-facing role.
- Proven track record of owning incidents end-to-end, from alert through RCA to prevention.
- 2+ years of experience working within an ITIL framework (incident, problem, and change management).
- Experience in Agile delivery environments alongside development teams.
- Proficiency with Jenkins for building and maintaining pipelines and for executing and troubleshooting deployments.
- Hands-on experience improving and automating CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with log analysis and alerting tools (Splunk, Sysdig).
- Fluency in observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana), including reading dashboards and tuning alerts.
- Comfortable operating services on Kubernetes, such as checking pod health, reading logs, and triggering restarts. Cluster administration is not required.
- Excellent skills with Ansible for applying configuration changes in controlled operational scenarios.
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose.
- Basic scripting skills (Bash, Python) for automating repetitive operational tasks and reconciling data.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently investigate complex production issues.
- Excellent English communication skills (C1), with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Experience with IBM DataStage.
- Experience with GitHub Actions.
We Offer
- Competitive hourly rate up to 108 PLN.
- Hybrid work model (2–3 days per week from the office).
- Opportunity to work with a leading client in the banking industry.
- Professional growth and development opportunities.
