About the Position
Senior Java Consultant
We are seeking a Senior Java Consultant to build and evolve high-performance backend services and APIs for a global financial services client. This role involves working hands-on in a collaborative international environment with a strong focus on reliability, security, and engineering quality.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services in Java
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices used at scale
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineers to deliver new features
- Contribute to system design with focus on performance, reliability, and security
- Work in Agile delivery with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps ways of working
- Review code and write automated tests to ensure quality and maintainability
- Support applications in production and troubleshoot issues when needed
- Continuously improve code quality, tooling, and engineering practices
Requirements
- Commercial experience with Java 8+ or 11+ or 17+
- Strong knowledge of Spring and Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture
- Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL or Oracle
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Git
- Experience with Maven or Gradle
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps teams
- Very good English communication skills
- Openness to hybrid work 2 days a week from our client office (for candidates from Kraków) and 6 days per month for candidates based outside Kraków.
Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS or GCP or Azure
- Experience with Docker
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Experience with Kafka or MQ or other event-driven messaging systems
- Experience in banking, finance, or other regulated environments
