About the Position
We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our IT Engineering team at ING Hubs Romania in Bucharest, Romania. This role involves developing high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Writing Java code (8 or higher);
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance;
- Code review, knowledge sharing, testing;
- Investigate and give resolutions for defects (in test, acceptance or production environments);
- Prepare and participate in releases of software components using the automated CI/CD pipelines;
- Grow novice engineers.
Requirements
- University/Master degree in Information Technology;
- Over 8 years of experience in the domain;
- Relevant experience designing Java-based backend applications using the following technologies, tools, and frameworks:
- Java EE, Spring, Spring Boot;
- Cassandra, Oracle, and other database technologies;
- Experience with Kotlin and/or other JVM languages is considered a plus;
- Experience with Kafka, Tomcat, and Checkmarx is considered a plus;
- Familiarity with CI & CD and code quality practices (Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, Ansible);
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance productivity and code quality;
- Experience working using Agile methodologies;
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience in application and system security;
- Experience in network components and infrastructure;
- Having experience in financial application development.
