About the Position

We're seeking a Senior Java Developer with 5+ years' experience to join our team for a critical role in enhancing system uptime.

Project Description

The client has an installed base of hundreds of scanner systems worldwide. To meet up-time contract agreements, the system downtime must be kept to an absolute minimum. The client is introducing a server on-site that continuously monitors all scanners in a customer domain. The server must detect (upcoming) system failure and identify what corrective actions are needed via a knowledge and procedure database. In the calibration phase, this server will initiate the required service actions on the scanner with correct settings and timings.

The software running on the server is Java based. Core aspects of the design will be database management and information distribution (worldwide), performance efficient data collection schemes, and data to information transitions.

Responsibilities

Working in a semiconductors environment
Supporting the architects in the translation from high-level design to work-breakdown
Writing and updating detailed Element Design Specification Documents
Code development (Java enterprise technologies, data streaming, etc.)
Interface design between application's modules and when needed the factory environment
Defining test strategies and if needed execution of software tests, set-up (automated) testing
New features development, unit/integration testing, design documentation
Development is mostly back-end oriented

Requirements

Must Have

5+ years' experience with Java (developing backend/web applications, Java), Java 21 experience
Spring Boot 3.x, Spring MVC / REST APIs, Spring Data JPA, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID) integration
Knowledge/experience with designing and/or implementing REST APIs
Familiarity with CI/CD, build pipelines (Bamboo, Jenkins, etc.)
Oracle/Postgres Database, Liquibase
Apache Kafka (Spring Kafka)
Protocol Buffers & gRPC, OpenAPI contract-first
Maven (multi-module)
JUnit 5, Mockito, Spring Boot Test, Cucumber, Testcontainers
Bachelor Degree

Nice to Have

Angular (v9+), TypeScript
Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible
RPM packaging
CI/CD pipelines
Azure (Key Vault, Managed Identity, Event Hubs)
