Senior Java Developer

About the Position

DXC Luxoft is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team in Remote Ukraine. This role involves building a trading platform for an innovative international top-tier hedge fund from the ground up, including front-office systems, pre-trade checks, intra-day positions management, order management, risk and limits management, trading activity reports, FIX connectivity, and market data providers connectivity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve existing backend services.
• Design, develop, and implement new backend services and APIs.
• Investigate production issues by analyzing application behavior, logs, and system performance to identify root causes.
• Provide continuous support, maintenance, and enhancements for existing applications.

Requirements

• Must have:
  • Expertise supported by a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficient knowledge of Java, encompassing collections, multithreading and concurrency, and JVM memory management.
  • Strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Practical experience with Apache Kafka and Docker.
  • Basic proficiency in Linux administration and command-line operations.
  • Ability to write and troubleshoot SQL queries.
  • Experience in working with REST APIs and backend integrations.
  • Capability to provide level 3 support for production trading systems as needed.
• Soft skills expected:
  • Readiness and availability to address critical support issues in production environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience in hedge funds, proprietary trading firms, brokers, or other financial services companies, demonstrating industry-specific knowledge.
• Experience with AWS, indicating familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services.
• Experience supporting production applications, showcasing the ability to maintain and troubleshoot live systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, reflecting skills in system performance tracking and issue detection.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, illustrating knowledge of automated software deployment processes.
