About the Position
Senior Java Developer | Loyalty @ING Hubs Romania
We are seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our IT Engineering team in Bucharest, Romania. As a key member of our international team, you will play a crucial role in developing scalable, resilient, and real-time banking processes, providing near real-time information to millions of ING savings account holders in the Netherlands.
Responsibilities
- Develop backend solutions using technologies such as Kotlin, Java, Spring, Maven, Azure, Prisma, Kafka.
- Drive (test) automation, continuous delivery, and deployment using tools like Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Fortify, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
- Take ownership and be responsible for refining, coding, testing, and deploying your work in on-premise and cloud environments.
- Lead development experience is a plus.
- Solve technical and functional challenges with self-motivation and an itch for innovation.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and embrace an agile way of working.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in backend software development, with a proven track record (6+ years).
- Thorough understanding of (test) automation, continuous delivery, and deployment tools and pipelines.
- DevOps mindset with the ability to refine, code, test, and deploy your own work.
- Strong analytical skills and conceptual/architectural understanding.
- Interest and vision in recent trends in software development and technology.
- Excellent social and communication skills, being a sparring partner for business colleagues.
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows (GitHub Copilot, pair-coding with LLMs) and a strong “vibe coding” mindset for fast, clean implementation.
- Strong prompt-engineering skills to generate high-quality code, tests, and documentation through AI tools.
- Ability to maintain development flow and optimize productivity through AI-enhanced coding practices.
